The 4 best
Airtable alternatives

Pricing jumps hard above the free tier and per-seat costs hurt once collaborators pile up.

Our take

Airtable's pricing model assumes every viewer is a paid editor. If you have 5 ops people and 50 read-only stakeholders, the bill becomes the story. Look at NocoDB, Baserow, or Smartsuite before you commit — same paradigm, fairer pricing.

Switching cost

Per-base CSV export is fine; rebuilding automations, interface designer pages, and synced views is the work. Budget 2-3 days per non-trivial base. Attachments are the worst part — Airtable hosts them and re-uploading 10k files is slow.

What Airtable does

Spreadsheet-database hybrid for ops and project tracking.

More on Airtable

Themes from real users

What buyers actually say about Airtable

Paraphrased from public reviews on G2, Reddit, and Hacker News. Not vendor copy.

  • Record limits and per-seat pricing punish growth.
  • Interface Designer closed the gap with no-code app builders.
  • Sync between bases is fragile when schemas drift.
  • Reliable API but rate-limits hit fast on bulk ops.
  • Hard to leave once Automations are deep in your workflow.
